How do I enter a demo competition?
To enter a demo competition, click on the competition card to access its details. You only need to be a verified XMTrading client. We will automatically create a demo MT5 account for you, credit your equity balance with $1,000, and prompt you to set a password. Until the competition begins, the account will remain in a READ ONLY state, with trading access to be allowed once the competition officially starts.
Can I top-up or reset my demo account balance?
No, each participant receives an equity of $1,000 upon entering a competition. Top-ups or balance resets are not allowed.
How is performance measured?
Performance is calculated using the following formula:
Performance = (Equity (current) — Equity (initial)) / Equity (initial)
Equity (current) = Your equity at every evaluation point, typically every 10 minutes
Equity (initial) = Your equity when the competition is initiated
Your performance determines your ranking in relation to other competitors.
Can I use an Expert Advisor (EA)?
Yes, participants are free to use an Expert Advisor if they wish.
What is Stop Out?
In the context of demo competitions, Stop Out is the level at which a competitor is excluded from the competition. It’s calculated as a percentage of the highest point of performance (max equity). For example, if the percentage is 30% and the maximum equity is $2,000, then the Stop Out will be $1,400. If the current equity drops below the Stop Out level, the competitor will be excluded. For the competitors’ convenience, the Stop Out level is displayed on their respective performance charts.
Where can I see the competition results?
To see the results of a competition that has ended, click on the ‘Ended’ button and find the respective competition. For ongoing competitions, the results are displayed on the dashboard where all the relevant statistics are displayed.
